线阵相机是采用线阵图像传感器的相机。呈现出线状，虽然也是二维图像，但是很长，长度可以达到几K，但是宽度就只有几个像素，通常只在两种情况下使用这种相机：一、被测视野为细长的带状，多用于滚动线上检测的问题。二、需要极大的视野或极高的精度。
线阵相机的特点：
特殊的工业相机，只有一行感光元素，因此可以用高速扫描和高分辨率，应用于连续检测的领域，比如金属，塑料，纸和纤维等，被测物体匀速运动，可以对图片一行一行处理，或者组成多张进行处理。
线阵相机的应用领域：
主要应用于工业、医疗、科研与安全领域的图象处理。典型应用领域是检测连续的材料，例如金属、塑料、纸和纤维等。被检测的物体通常匀速运动，利用一台或多台相机对其逐行连续扫描，以达到对其整个表面均匀检测。可以对其图象一行一行进行处理，或者对由多行组成的面阵图象进行处理。另外线阵相机非常适合测量场合，这要归功于传感器的高分辨率，它可以准确测量到微米。
